The West Indies will only be contesting two test matches along with three T20s when they tour New Zealand in November. New Zealand Cricket chief David White says the finishing touches are being applied to the tour with the dates and venues to be confirmed.
Neither the West Indies nor New Zealand had confirmed in early August whether the tour would comprise test matches or limited overs games, but the Caribbean side was originally scheduled to tour New Zealand for three test matches in November under the Future Tours Programme.
New Zealand have a packed upcoming home schedule with series against Pakistan which includes two tests and three T20s, Australia for five T20s and Bangladesh for three ODIs and three T20s to follow the tour by the West Indies.
They had been scheduled to tour the Caribbean for three One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals last month, but the series was scrapped due to the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
