The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were announced Thursday morning with five new shows competing for best drama.
The comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live and the HBO drama Westworld both earned the most Emmy nominations for individual shows, with 22.
Stranger Things, which has been a breakout hit for Netflix, scored 19 nominations.
SNL is now the most Emmy nominated series of all time with a total of 231 over the history of the show.
Among the nominees are Atlanta, Black-ish and Modern Family for outstanding comedy series, Viola Davis in How to Get Away With Murder for outstanding lead actress in a drama series and for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series Anthony Anderson, Black-ish and Donald Glover, Atlanta.
Outstanding lead actress in a comedy series includes Tracee Ellis Ross for Black-ish.
The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Stephen Colbert, will broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, September 17.
