Aretha Franklin memorial scheduled for August 31

Aretha Franklin's life will be celebrated on August 31 in song at a funeral in her native Detroit that will feature performances from 19 different acts, including Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill, Ronald Isley and Fantasia.
 
The Queen of Soul will also be celebrated at the Greater Grace Temple on Detroit's west side by Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, the Clark Sisters and Jennifer Holiday, with Greater Grace's Bishop Charles H. Ellis III officiating the service along with the Rev. Robert Smith Jr. of Detroit's New Bethel Baptist Church.
 
The eulogy for the late music superstar, who died on August 16 following a battle with pancreatic cancer, will be delivered by the Rev. Jasper Williams Jr. of Atlanta's Salem Baptist Church. 
 
The funeral will be private, but some public seating might be made available.
 
A separate tribute show will take place the night before, featuring Johnny Gill, Gladys Knight, and Angie Stone.

Meanwhile, Franklin's death saw a surge of interest in her back catalogue.
 
Respect and I Say A Little Prayer were streamed more than a million times each this week.
 
Franklin was also the top album seller in the U.S. through the weekend, selling more than 45,000 total copies, led by the compilation 30 Greatest Hits, originally released in 1987, and followed by the 1972 live gospel album Amazing Grace.
