Cardi B chosen as first ever co-host of 'The Tonight Show'

US talk show The Tonight Show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, has never had a co-host in its long 64 year history until now.

It is fitting that record-breaking rapper Cardi B has been chosen as Fallon's first ever sidekick for the historic show on Monday April 9.

Last year, Cardi became the first female rapper in nearly 20 years to score a number one on the US charts, with her smash hit Bodak Yellow

The last being Lauryn Hill with Doo Wop (That Thing) in 1998.

She then became the first female hip hop artist to have their first three singles in top ten at the same time.

Cardi's latest appearance is in support of her forthcoming debut studio album Invasion of Privacy, which drops on Friday.

Her new track, Drip, featuring her fiance Offset's band Migos is available to view online.
