YouTube has released its annual list of the top trending videos of 2020, with comedian Dave Chappelle securing the top spot.
The list reflects a year that was dominated by shifts in behaviour brought on by the pandemic, civil unrest, and a heated political environment leading up to the US election.
Dave Chappelle's 27-minute stand-up special titled 8:46, was released by Netflix on June 12, amid ongoing protests dedicated to fighting racism and police brutality around the world in the wake of George Floyd's death.
The special was praised by critics and other public figures for its honesty about America's ongoing issues with racism.
The title of the special references the length of time Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kept his knee pressed on Floyd's neck.
Rapper Future had the top trending music video for Life Is Good featuring Drake.
