The orginal film was set in Kingston, Jamaica, but the new TV series sees them in Miami, Florida.
The gritty culture classsic has not yet received a release date but the trailer for the series can be seen online.
The Top Shottas TV series features starring roles by musicians KyMani Marley and Spragga Benz, as well critically acclaimed actor Paul Campbell.
