Disney and 20th Century has announced that James Cameron's hit movie Avatar will return to theaters on September 23 in re-mastered 4K High Dynamic Range.
The re-release of Avatar comes three months before the highly anticipated release of sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.
The original movie which first hit theatres in 2009, will return for a two week run.
Avatar is the highest grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office, collecting $2.84 billion in ticket sales.
Avatar: The Way of Water hits the big screen around the globe on December 16.
