Fast rising Reggae artiste Magma recently collaborated with iconic Reggae singer Half Pint on a remake of his 1980s hit song titled Level the Vibes.
As expected Magma is extremely excited about the collaboration.
“It’s an honor and a joy to be able to record a song with Half Pint, he’s a legend. I’m really happy that we were able to work together on this track. Level the vibes has always been one of my favorite songs, I grew up on that kind of music.”
According to Magma the collaboration was not planned.
“Half Pint is my bredrin and we always reason when we are at the studio. Whenever we see each other we always hold a musical vibes. One day he told me that he would like us to record a track together. The next thing I know we were in ‘Chinna’ Smith’s studio doing a remake of one of Half Pint’s greatest hits. It’s just amazing how Jah makes things possible.”
A full scale promotional campaign for Level the Vibes is currently in the works.
“Right now my team is busy arranging the promotional campaign for the song. They have already sent it out to the local radio stations. They are currently servicing it to international stations. We are also planning to shoot a music video for the song,” said Magma.
Level the Vibes was produced by Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith, Donovan Josephs & Adam Mayo for Molten Rock productions. It will be released by Inna De Yard Distribution via ITunes by the end of February.
Magma will be one the featured acts at the Dennis Brown tribute concert that is slated to take place at the waterfront downtown, Kingston on Sunday, February 23rd.
