New documentary to focus on 90s TV psychic 'Miss Cleo'

Popular 90s TV psychic Miss Cleo is the subject of a new documentary.

Nonfiction entertainment studio XTR and production company Majority are set to explore the life and career of the woman who claimed to be psychic.

Miss Cleo, who purported to be a Jamaican shaman, became a household name with the phrase "Call me now!"

The charismatic character under the turban was in fact Los Angeles native Youree Dell Harris, an actress and playwright.

She captured television audiences in ads offering to tell people's fortunes through a pay-per-call number.

But in 2002, Ms Cleo's reign ended when the Federal Trade Commission accused the network and its owners of deceptive advertising, billing, and collection practices.

Harris died of cancer in 2016, at the age of 53.
