Toni Braxton to headline Jazz & Blues

Toni Braxton,a multiple Grammy Award winner, will headline this year’s Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival taking place January 30 - February 1, at Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium.

Braxton, well known for her 1996 single "Un-Break My Heart", will be joined by fellow Grammy Award winners Chrisette Michele, Aaron Neville, Chaka Khan, Crystal Gayle and Joe.

Jamaica's reggae great, Beres Hammond, joins the impressive lineup of international superstars set to perform at the festival, which is now in its 18th staging.

Other reggae acts include Beenie Man, Marcia Griffiths, Chalice, Protoje, Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, and Dre Island.

According to Jamaica’s Director of Tourism, John Lynch, the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival has become a staple on Jamaica's entertainment calendar.

“The festival is one of the iconic events to kick off our annual events calendar. Many visitors book their vacation to Jamaica to coincide with this world class music festival. Patrons are always treated to a star-studded lineup such as this year’s legendary performers while they bask in our warm hospitality,” Lynch said.

The festival has set the stage for many international talents such as Tessanne Chin, winner last year of NBC's “The Voice”, who along with her sister Tami,  performed as opening acts for international star Celine Dion in 2012.

According to Walter Elmore, festival producer, this year’s event will provide a wholesome entertainment experience, both on and off the stage.

“Over the years, we have strived to ensure that a tradition of excellent entertainment is delivered at the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival and this year should be no different,” noted Elmore.
