It appears that the
impending sale of Air Jamaica
is starting to have effects on some local operations.
Effective February 26, Air Jamaica says it will close its Ticket Office in New Kingston.
The existing services will continue to be offered to passengers by telephone at the Reservations Centre, or in person at the Ticket Office at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.
Air Jamaica says specifically, ticket purchases will be handled through AirJamaica.com.
Air Jamaica's President and CEO, Bruce Nobles notes that most airline tickets are purchased at AirJamaica.Com or through travel agencies.
He says it now makes sense to absorb those functions into their Reservations and Airport offices.
