AstraZeneca shares turned negative on Wednesday after a Brazilian health authority said a volunteer in its coronavirus vaccine study died.
Shares were down by about one per cent in early afternoon trading.
It's unclear if the volunteer received the vaccine.
A spokesperson from the University of Oxford, which is developing the vaccine with AstraZeneca, said there have been no concerns about safety of the clinical trial after an assessment of the case in Brazil.
