August 1 is the date set for the official merger of Churches and GSB Cooperative Credit Unions.
The new entity will be known as First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union.
Members of both entities gave approval to the merger during special meetings held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The new entity will have more than 165,000 members and $8 billion dollars in assets
