The Statistical Institute of Jamaica, says the cost for activities and goods considered recreational increased by 4.3 per cent on an annual basis as at October.
The assessment by the national statistics agency found that for the month of October alone, the index for the 'Recreation, Sport and Culture' division rose by 0.3 per cent.
STATIN says this was attributed to a 0.3 per cent increase in the index for the group 'Newspapers, Books and Stationery'.
Costs associated with that grouping increased mainly due to higher prices for books and stationery supplies.
