Jamaicans paid almost three per cent more for a number of utilitiy services for the year up to March.

For the month of March alone, the division rose by 0.9 per cent.

The national statistics body says the movement was mainly due to a 2.6 per cent average increase in prices faced by consumers for 'Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels'.

Higher electricity rates pushed up the index.
