Courts has officially opened its newest store in Portmore, St. Catherine.

This is the 29th store in Jamaica and the second in the Sunshine City.

Speaking at the opening of the store on Wednesday, Vice President of Unicomer Caribbean Errol LeBlanc, said more investments will made in Jamaica over the near to medium term.

Over the next five years, he said, stores will be launched in Mandeville, Spanish Town, Drax Hall and Ironshore.

He said the company is also looking to set up a large head office in Jamaica, as the country will be the key location in its Caribbean expansion.

The new Portmore location has Courts, Courts Optical, RadioShack and Courts Ready Cash.

The company did not disclose the value of the investment in the new store.

Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Horace Chang, who attended the opening, said the company's expansion reflects the confidence Unicomer has in Jamaica and is also an indication of growth in the economy.
