Desnoes and Geddes has recorded a big jump in profit for the first half of its financial year.
Profit after tax for the six months to December 31 amounted to J$808 million up 59 per cent versus the corresponding period in the previous year.
This occurred despite net sales slipping two per cent to J$5.2 billion dollars.
The decline coincided with a reduction in cost of sales and marketing expenses.
D&G says its improved domestic performance was buoyed by its new product Tallawah and a strong performing spirits portfolio.
