Digicel’s Obrien on Forbes list of billionaires

The head of  Digicel, Denis O'brien, has again been included in Forbes magazine's annual list of  the world's  billionaires.

Mr. O'brien is this year ranked 205 out of  more than one thousand 200 billionaires.

He currently has a net worth of  five billion US dollars.

The 53 year old Irish tycoon made his fortune via his Digicel Group which operates in Jamaica and other Caribbean islands, Latin America, Fiji, Tonga as well as Papua New Guinea.

Mr. O'Brien's other holdings include radio stations, on-line recruiting sites in China, and a Portuguese resort.

The son of  a human rights activist he created the nonprofit organization Front Line to fly activists out of  harm's way.

NCB Chairman Michael Lee Chin, did not make it on this year's Forbes List of  billionaires.

He fell off  the list last year after his net worth declined.

Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim again came out on top of  the Forbes list.

The magazine estimates that Mr Slim, whose business interests range from telecommunications to construction, is worth 69 billion dollars. 

He is followed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates on 61 billion dollars, and US investor Warren Buffett on 44 billion dollars. 

 Mr Slim, 72, has now topped the list for three years in succession.
