James Stewart, Senior Director in charge of Economic Planning and Research at the PIOJ
Jamaica's Finance and Insurance Services Industry grew by an estimated 1.5 per cent in the first quarter.

"This performance was influenced by increased profitability at deposit-taking institutions, associated with the higher level of economic activities, and an increase in net interest income and fees and commissions," said James Stewart, Senior Director in charge of Economic Planning and Research at the Planning Institute of Jamaica.

He was speaking at a press briefing recently.
