Guardian Holdings is reporting lower profits for the first half of the year, despite continued growth in insurance revenue.
Chairman Robert Almeida says the group earned net profit of TT$254 million during the three months ending June 30.
That represents a more than 150 per cent increase over the TT$100 million earned in the January to March quarter.
However, it was 7.3 per cent lower than the $274 million reported for the corresponding quarter last year.
For the first six months of the year, Guardian Holdings recorded net profit of TT$354 million, down 10.4 per cent.
Despite the decline in profit, insurance revenue for the six-month period increased 6.7 per cent to TT$3.2 billion, compared with $3 billion a year ago.
