Jamaica to welcome first Swedish charter flight this weekend

Jamaica will this weekend welcome its first Swedish charter flight with Thomas Cook Scandinavia Airlines. The flight is scheduled to arrive Saturday afternoon at the Sangster International Airport.

Flights will operate fortnightly on nine rotations, and the service, which will end next March, will use an A330 aircraft which seats 330 passengers.

Language training

In the meantime, Dr. Wykeham McNeil, Minister of Tourism, is to launch a Russian and Spanish language skills training programme for tourism workers.

Dr. McNeil said the launch is in response to the increase in Russian and Spanish tourists to Jamaica. The launch will take place this Thursday.

Dr. McNeil said the purpose of  the training is to enhance the level of service provided to visitors from Russia and Spain while sensitising persons to the culture of  these visitors.
