JAMCOPY urging local creatives to copyright their work

The Jamaican Copyright Licensing Agency is urging local creatives to copyright their work and operate like businesses.

The agency says, with artificial intelligence and digital duplication making piracy easier, protecting intellectual property is more critical than ever.

JAMCOPY board member Tanya Batson Savage, celebrated authorpreneur Kwame McPherson, and award-winning poet Kacy Garvey have all emphasized that creatives must view themselves as entrepreneurs—not just individuals with talent.

They were speaking at a recent forum attended by more than 60 authors, publishers, educators, and other stakeholders.
