The Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) wants the Government to prudently utilize any savings accruing to the public purse due to the reduction in the country’s fuel bill.
The Chamber, in a statement on Monday, pointed to the fact that public sector entities such as the Jamaica Urbsan Transit Company have realised significant savings because of reduced expenditure on fuel, with the fall in oil prices.
Even though the Jamaican Government’s projected revenues from fuel sales will decline, in these circumstances, the JCC wants any net savings realised to be used to finance activities that will contribute to jump-starting the country's growth agenda.
