The JSE Index advanced by 488 points on Thursday while the Junior Market Index declined by 24 points.
There was trading in 102 stocks, of which 48 advanced, 39 declined and 15 traded firm.
Jamaican Teas was the volume leader with 27 per cent of total volume.
