The Jamaica Tourist Board has reported that the country welcomed 1.4 million passengers during the period January to May.
This was a decline of one-point-five per cent when compared with the corresponding period last year.
The JTB says that there was renewed momentum, however, from the Caribbean and Latin America, despite the soft start to the year.
This, it says, was driven by aggressive marketing, which resulted in increased airlift.
