KSAMC targets over $265m in fees and taxes from collection drive

The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) is seeking to collect more than $265 million in outstanding and current payments from businesses and property owners.

KSAMC Chief Executive Officer Robert Hill says the corporation is targeting $165 million in arrears for outstanding trade licences, property taxes, signs and billboards.

It is also seeking to collect another $100 million in payments that are due during the current financial year.

Mr. Hill says the KSAMC recently identified 432 properties owing a combined $162 million in property taxes and trade licence fees.

The collection drives are being conducted in partnership with Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ), which collects the taxes on behalf of the Municipal Corporation.
