Lydford Mines invests in new technology

Jackie Millington, CEO of Lydford Mines, says the company is holding its share in the highly competitive U.S. construction and mining industry through constant innovation, investment in research, and new technologies to cut costs.

Ms Millington, speaking Wednesday at the launch of the Jamaica Productivity Centre's Productivity Toolkit, revealed the company recently imported cutting-edge mining and quarrying equipment from Germany, which is helping to reduce operational costs.

She said the equipment will also be used to boost exports to the U.S., as well as to Caribbean markets such as Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Barbados.

Lydford Mines produces marl, aggregates, and other general and road construction materials.
