Mayberry Jamaican Equities reports improved financials

Mayberry Jamaican Equities posted a total net profit of $211.8 million, with total income amounting to $113 million in the first quarter of 2024.

The company says it has recorded significant financial improvements in the first three quarters of 2024, despite challenging market conditions characterised by falling interest rates and volatile stock prices.

Year-to-date, Mayberry's total comprehensive income stands at $448 million, a notable improvement compared to the $167 million recorded for the corresponding period last year.

Meanwhile, the company reported a trading loss of $256 million year-to-date, significantly less than the $2.1 billion loss recorded in the similar period last year.

Mayberry says it expects to fully overcome the trading losses by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.
