Dr. Dosseth Edwards-Watson, Principal of the Trench Town Polytechnic College
More opportunities for technical skills training are being offered to students at the Trench Town Polytechnic College.
The institution has been provided with a forklift by Tank-Weld Equipment.
Dr. Dosseth Edwards-Watson, principal of the college, said students will be better equipped with the skills and training needed to contribute to the local economy.
The students will receive NCTVET Level 2 certification.
Dr. Edwards-Watson noted that the forklift industry was said to be valued at US$58.7 million in 2022.
It is expected to expand at an annual rate of 13.2% from 2023 to 2030.
