Mystic Mountain, the Ocho Rios based attraction, has confirmed that more than half of the original staff complement has returned to work at the property, which will reopen later this month.
Mystic Mountain was placed in receivership over the last two years, and put through a court process which saw the location eventually closing to the public.
The park was purchased by North Jam Island Tours, for US$13 million.
Wayne Cummings, Director at North Jam Island Tours, disclosed that the attraction is to reopen this month, with preparations well underway, including the refurbishing of "all of the facilities; restaurants, all of the customer facilities, staff facilities, but more importantly, we have been working at recertifying all of the rides."
More than 100 staffers who previously worked at the park have been rehired, he disclosed.
Mr. Cummings also said there's also room for expansion at the park, with only 20 per cent of the space having already been developed, meaning that another 80 acres of land are available for further development, adding to the five rides which are already installed at the park.
"Everything is being looked at; nothing is off the table at this point," he asserted.
