NCB says all its iABMs able to take new banknotes

National Commercial Bank Jamaica says all of its intelligent Automated Banking Machines (iABMs), are able to take deposits and dispense funds consisting of the recently-introduced polymer banknotes.

It says the upgrade was completed at the end of October.

Vice President of Payments & Digital Channels at NCBJ, Danielle Cameron Duncan, says the bank has also increased its number of ABMs.

Five new iABMs, which can both accept deposits and dispense cash have been installed.

NCBJ says 60 regular cash-dispenser ABMs which were at the end of their life cycle have also been replaced.

The bank now has 141 iABMs and 157 regular cash-dispenser ABMs.

NCBJ also says machines which were removed due to security concerns are being strategically redeployed to new locations.

It also says come next year, customers will be able to get real-time updates via its mobile app, on each machine's status.
