Optimum Altice doubles workforce despite shifts in BPO sector

Optimum Altice says while some businesses process outsourcing (BPO) firms are laying off staff over fears of artificial intelligence, it has doubled its workforce to 900 employees and expanded to 19 service lines since 2023.

Tanisha Davis, Director of Operations at Optimum Altice, says the company continues to hire between 80 and 100 new agents monthly, stressing that AI is seen as a tool to enhance quality, not replace jobs.

Optimum, a subsidiary of Altice USA, is also a member of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA), Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) and the Global Services Association of Jamaica (GSAJ).
