Prime Minister John Briceño of Belize has disclosed that the new designs of the country's currency feature national heroes, George Price and Philip S.W. Goldson.
The new notes include iconic national imagery and symbols aimed at stirring citizens' pride and patriotism, having been inspired by Belize's rich culture.
The new notes were designed by British based company, De La Rue International with the assistance of the Central Bank of Belize, and go into circulation in June.
The newly designed bills include several security features to prevent counterfeiting.
