Sagicor Group reports sharp rise in profits for FY2025

Sagicor Group Jamaica is reporting a sharp increase in profits for the year ended December 2025.

The company posted net profit of $16.22 billion, a 75 per cent jump over what was earned in 2024.

Group President and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Zacca says the performance reflects stronger core earnings, growth across major business lines and a recovery in the investment portfolio.

Long-term insurance generated net profit of $9.32 billion, while short-term insurance more than doubled its profit to $3.38 billion, despite increased claims linked to the hurricane.

Commercial banking recorded net profit of $4.01 billion, supported by loan growth and higher transaction volumes, while investment banking profit rose to $1.67 billion on stronger trading income.
