Scotiabank trains staff in sign language to enhance inclusivity

Scotiabank is taking a significant step towards inclusivity by equipping its frontline staff with the ability to communicate in sign language.

Through its Diversity and Inclusion Council, the bank has partnered with experienced sign language instructor Neville Anthony Aiken to train client-facing employees, ensuring seamless communication with clients who have speech or hearing disabilities.

The initiative was officially launched at Scotiabank's Half-Way Tree branch as part of the bank's broader commitment to fostering inclusive communities and removing barriers to accessing its services.

To date, over 100 staff members have been trained, with additional sessions planned to expand the reach of this program.
