The Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) recently launched a suite of consultancy services to help members of the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector boost their operations and build sustainable businesses.
The SAJ, which has more than 86 years experience in financial management and a team with 50 years of combined experience and expertise in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, cash flow forecasting and auditing, is now offering these services to startup businesses.
Fiona Hall, finance manager at the SAJ, said this expansion is being driven by the demand for reliable and affordable services in these areas by members of the MSME sector.
She also pointed out that this was part of the SAJ's rebranding programme, adding that this will also include the filing of monthly and annual payroll returns to Tax Administration Jamaica on behalf of members of the MSME sector.
Hall also indicated that SAJ currently manages the payroll of 800 employees, including port workers, and as a result, is quite capable of helping members of the MSME sector to deal with these challenges.
