STATIN reports 3.7% inflation in Jamaica’s tourism sector for year ending July

Jamaicans faced inflation of 3.7 per cent for some tourism-related services, such as accommodation.

The Statistical Institute of Jamaica says this average increase in the cost of goods and services in the group 'Restaurants and Accommodation Services' was for the 12 months ended July.

For the month of July alone, the division went up by 0 point 1 per cent.

This was due mostly to higher prices for accommodation services.
