The Jamaica Stock Exchange, JSE, has seen a surge in profit as the equities market continues to make record gains.
For the nine months to the end of September, the JSE recorded $139 million profit which was a $131 million increase over the corresponding period last year.
Between January and September, the JSE's revenue rose by $279 million to $521 million as a result of higher cess and fee income. This resulted from several large transactions on the stock market.
