Port Antonio based mento band, The Jolly Boys have announced that they will join American rhythm and blues singer Sade on her European tour this spring.
This is another notch in the belt of the group, who was once referred to as the ‘toast of Port Antonio’ with their traditional mento music.
Their latest album Great Expectation, released last year, has received rave reviews from top music critics and since then The Jolly Boys have been taking their brand of Jamaican music across the world, performing at some of the major international music festivals.
Since the release of their album, the band has performed on the BBC’s Later with Jools Holland, as well as mesmerizing audiences at the Cambridge Folk Festival, Secret Garden Party and The Big Chill.
Sade’s audiences will experience The Jolly Boys’ special brand of Jamaican magic.
