Tuff Gong Int. hosts final BBC World Service Caribbean broadcast

The final broadcast of BBC World Service Caribbean took place at Tuff Gong International studios in Kingston recently.

James Fletcher hosted the final programme which featured a live discussion with musicians from Cuba and Trinidad along with the best new band in the world, Jamaica’s DubtonicKru.

The BBC crew also filmed Clive Hunt, who is producing a tribute to the people of Japan which will feature various reggae and dancehall artistes.

The project is sponsored by the Bob Marley Foundation.

The BBC team also filmed Rollin Records artiste IbaMahr singing his hit single Will I Wait, as well as Senegalese singer Meta Dia and the Kurfew Band in the Tuff Gong rehearsal room.

BBC World Service broadcasts to 180 million listeners in more than thirty languages worldwide every week and was broadcasting to the Caribbean region for more than 70 years.
