Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Area One Devon Watkiss in which the St. James Division says based on preliminary information the four murders that rocked the parish on Thursday night were gang related.
ACP Watkiss says there are clear indications that the murders last night were done by members of a gang members involved in the Lotto Scam.
The ACP added that investigators were on the ground from early collecting statements and trying to put the pieces together.
According to ACP Watkiss The presence of the Police in the areas where the murders were committed especially foot and motorized patrols has been significantly increased.
ACP Watkiss appealed to persons who can assist with the solving of these crimes to do so by getting in touch with the Police through Police 119, Kingfish 811 and Crime Stop 311.
Two double murders were recorded in the parish of St James last night.
The first was on Guns Drive, Granville.
Several persons were gathered at a shop on Guns Drive playing bingo about 7.30pm when two men reportedly walked towards the group and opened fire.
When the shooting stopped two persons, 73 yr old Alvin Reid and 36 yr Ashmarie Plummer who is believed to be 2 months pregnant lay dead.
Two hours later there was a double murder in the community of Dundee, Maroon Town fifteen miles away from the first double murder.
19 yr old Chantal Davis who was 9 months pregnant and her common law husband Easton Chambers were shot dead in the jerk establishment Chambers operated.
Shortly after 9.30pm patrons were at the jerk establishment when two men opened fire on the building.
On the arrival of the police the couple was found lying in pools of blood.
They were pronounced dead at hospital.
