5 shot, 1 killed in Lawrence Tavern

Another violent incident has rocked Lawrence Tavern in St. Andrew, the second in under 24 hours.

In the latest incident, five persons were shot, one fatally in Goulbourne, Friday night.  

Dainsworth Gray, 21, of Goulbourne was killed while his 54-year-old father and three teenagers - ages 17, 18 and 19 are injured.

According to the police, a group of persons was playing dominoes at a shop in Goulbourne about 10.15pm when they were approached by a man armed with a gun.

The gunman opened fire killing Mr. Gray on the spot and injuring the others.

Residents called the police and the injured persons were taken to hospital where they were admitted in stable but serious conditions. 

Man stabbed to death   

This incident came hours after Samoura Barrett, a 29-year old bus conductor, was stabbed to death during a dispute involving three persons.

Mr. Barrett, another man and an 18-year old youth got into an argument.

This escalated into a fight during which Mr. Barrett was stabbed.

He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he died.

The teen was held and taken into custody but the other man fled the scene.

The Lawrence Tavern Police are seeking a man known as Kevash Samuels for questioning in relation to the stabbing of Mr. Barrett.

Investigators are not yet clear if there is a link between both incidents.
