The island's air traffic controllers remain restive despite a meeting with Transport Minister Mike Henry to discuss claims that they were overpaid millions of dollars more than a year ago.
The controllers will have to wait a while longer to hear if the dispute has been settled.
The Jamaica Air Traffic Controllers Association (JACTA) says the Transport Minister has requested that it submit a formal report on the matter.
“We anticipate that the issue will be resolved in our favour, as soon as we present that report that the minister requested of us, I am sure that it will highlight other points that JACTA and the air traffic controllers do not owe the Civil Aviation Authority any money,” said JACTA Vice President, Nicolai Gabbidon.
Last year, 71 of the 90 air traffic controllers were told that they owe a total of $55 million in overpaid salaries.
They have denied the claim.
However, the Civil Aviation Authority has been insisting that the money must be recovered.
