At least five dead in Amtrak train crash

At least five persons are dead, following the derailment of an Amtrak train headed to New York City on Tuesday evening.

The derailment took place in Philadelphia, as train 188, a Northeast Regional, traveling from Washington, D.C., was going into a deep turn.

The front of the train has been described by eyewitnesses as “mangled.”

Many of the injured passengers have been taken to area hospitals.

The area where the derailment occurred is known as Frankford Junction and has a big curve.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
