An Australian senator has provoked outrage after blaming immigration for the mosque shootings in New Zealand.
At least 49 people were killed in Christchurch and another 20 were seriously injured.
In a statement, Fraser Anning, a senator in Queensland, claimed that Muslim immigration was to blame for the atrocity.
The remarks were denounced by the UK home secretary, Sajid Javid, who accused the senator of stoking extremism.
Australia's prime minister, Scott Morrison, described Senator Anning's comments as disgusting.
It was revealed that the gunman who live-streamed the attack from a head-mounted camera said he was a 28 year-old Australian called Brenton Tarrant.
He has been charged with murder and is to appear in court on Saturday.
The footage showed him firing indiscriminately at men, women and children from close range inside the Al Noor mosque.
Facebook said it had removed the gunman's Facebook and Instagram accounts and was working to remove any copies of the footage.
The suspect is also said to have published a document before the attack outlining his intentions as well as details about the plan for the attack.
