The body of a man who was washed away in a gully in Waltham Park, St. Andrew during heavy rain Tuesday was found on Wednesday morning, in Majesty Gardens.

The St. Andrew South Police and residents resumed their search for 18-year-old Rahjaun Melbourne on Wednesday morning, after the exercise was called off Tuesday evening due to poor visibility.

The body was found in a swampy area.

Despite the tragic end to the search, a member of the search team, Ronald Todd, said he was happy to bring closure for the family.

A brother of the deceased, who assisted in identifying the body, said the family is devastated by the young man's death.

Radio Jamaica News was informed that Mr. Melbourne was assisting a woman to remove pigs from the gully when they were washed away.

The woman was rescued Tuesday and taken to hospital for treatment.
