There is growing concern in St. Vincent and The Grenadines over the increase in crime and violence.
The Eastern Caribbean country has recorded 42 murders year-to-date compared with 40 for the corresponding period last year.
Foreign Affairs Minister Fitz Bramble has described the current homicide trend as a complex, "multifaceted problem".
Addressing the public fear and concern surrounding the murder rate, Minister Bramble emphasized that crime cannot be solved with simple, discrete targets or a single quick fix.
He said the Minister of National Security has already embarked on several targeted initiatives to address violent crime and strengthen public safety across the country.
