Trinidad national carrier Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) has confirmed that one of its planes was involved in a mishap on a flight from Jamaica to Barbados on Sunday, June 26.
However, it says none of the passengers on board was injured.
Laura Asbjornsen, the Communications Specialist at Caribbean Airlines, said flight BW455 had experienced cabin pressure failure that would have caused some concern to passengers.
She said the plane has been taken out of service for a full maintenance programme.
The airline is to provide a detailed report on Sunday's incident.
Miss Asbjornsen said Caribbean Airlines is also conducting a maintenance review and handling test of the aircraft.
A traumatised passenger on the affected flight said there was total despair among the passengers when oxygen masks dropped followed by a loud bang.
However, Jamaica's Civil Aviation Authority says the precautionary measure taken by the airline's crew was normal.
