Councillor for the Edgewater Division, the People's National Party's Alric Campbell has charged party faithfuls to return East Central St. Catherine in the party's column.
The JLP's Alando Terrelonge defeated the PNP's Raymond Pryce in the 2020 general election to claim the seat.
Pryce remains the PNP's standard bearer in the next polls.
Councillor Campbell urged supporters of the PNP to unite behind the candidate to ensure victory for the party.
"I want to tell you that the pressure will be on the East Central St. Catherine because if the PNP is to return, we must get at least two from Portmore. And since I don't know what is happening over the other side, the pressure is going to be building on East Central St. Catherine. The people are waiting for a PNP member of Parliament."
"Let us not lose the election. Let us do nothing at all to give it to the Jamaica Labour Party. We are counting on East Central St. Catherine. East Central St. Catherine must be returned to the winning columns of the People's National Party!" he charged.
Mr. Campbell was addressing PNP delegates of East Central St. Catherine on Sunday.
