Caribbean Airlines has sought to reaffirm that it's still committeed to the Air Jamaica deal, despite more media reports out of Trinidad suggesting otherwise.
Last Thursday, a newspaper article questioned whether the deal between Caribbean Airlines and Air Jamaica would be consummated.
It stated that well placed sources believe the powers that be in Trinidad were looking for an excuse not to sign.
But on Friday, Caribbean Airlines sought to dispel the notion.
Responding to queries on the matter, it said it was not aware of any plans to pull out of the agreement, but was working hard with the integration team to finalise what needs to be done
operationally to make it a reality.
Currently, Caribbean Airlines has until April 30 - the right without penalty, to walk away from the deal.
It also announced that it has acquired a third aircraft for Air Jamaica, a a 154 seater Boeing 737-800, set to arrive here on Tuesday.
It's expected to replace the airbus aircraft which Air Jamaica adopted in the 1990's, and will fly on routes operated by Air Jamaica
